Hi there can any one let me know if it is ok to use offical copy from court with stamp as i do not have the original decree nisi

I just used a letter from the court (with an official stamp) confirming when the decree absolute was issued because I'd lost the original, it was over fifteen years ago but I don't see why the rules should change.

It's fine to use the sealed copy (with the County Court/Principal Registry stamp) but make sure it's the Decree Absolute, not the Decree Nisi. Otherwise you're still married...

If you want it for an affirmation of freedom to marry, then I am fairly certain that a decree nisi is not sufficient; you need to have received your decree absolute; although the guidance just says 'divorce certificate(s).'

Yes you are correct.

A decree Nisi is only the interim Divorce Certificate which is made Absolute automatically after six weeks,unless just

cause be submitted to the court as to a reason for the Divorce not to be made Absolute.

Without the Absolute decree there would be some doubt as to the Divorce having been finalised or not.

Hi guys my fult i do have absolute with court stamp will marry april 2010

i will say i have found many good advice on here i hope i can give back later
