Steve2UK
Via e-mail, I've been offered a cheapish car rental (pick-up, fact) from what I think must be a very small or semi-private business. Leaving aside whether the vehicle's reliable etc, they're talking about including "level 3" insurance. Is that effectively fully comprehensive, minimal or something in between? Thanks in advance for any guidance.
ajahnlau
All vehicles here have the compulsory gov't ins. Full coverage is usually referred to as first class ins. over here. Never heard of level 3. Might want to reply asking if this is the ins. they have. On a rental it's best to have this coverage to avoid any unforseen holiday expenses. I'd heard the term "first class" before, so was puzzled by "Level 3". As you suggest, I'll query it before going any further.
Thetyim
Never heard of level three insurance. My guess is it means Third Party
The_Doctor
I was told there were 3 levels of insurance here, which translate roughly as; 1) comprehensive. 2) Third Party, Fire and Theft. 3) Third Party...

terdsak_12
Compulsary Govt Insurance covers medical costs (basic) for yourself and anyone you run over! You can get 3rd party which covers accident damge you cause to other vehicles. For rental only go with a company that offers full coverage. Best to pay a bit extra, it'll be worth it in the long run. The_Doctor
Get the full insurance... Having an accident here is a matter of 'When', not 'If'...
mijan24
What price range are we talking about? 3rd Party 3rd Party Fire & Theft Full Cover which I understand is called 1st class Can anyone recommend any particular Ins Comp
ajahnlau
Very open question. It all depends on how much of a car you're insuring. A new car worth about 800,000 the cost is about 20,000. Used car about 250,000 about 12,000. Motorcycle 1.4mil costs 25,000.
