100 Pheu Thai MPs Boycott House Meeting

webfact

They are just looking for any excuse to mount pressure on the PM, nothing else is working, we know it, they know it, so they are trying every possible angle, except violence, thankfully.**

** Well okay, if you don't count the grenade attacks, as they can not say for certain who did it, even if they have a fair idea.

That is the realpolitik of it

Very good, Soldiers have no place in a parliament.

Very good, you are proving that you are unable to comprehend the text written or enjoy distorting the news supplied.

And i would also be interested why being a soldier would disqualify anyone from entering the parliament via an election...

House convenes despite opposition boycott

Well they managed to hold the session without the PTP cry-babies anyway - som nam naa

Yes, they did indeed, and as hammered pointed out, achieved more in a single day (passage of 3 separate bills) than Samak's government achieved in months and months of inactivity and non-governance.

House Boycott. Yet another abject PTT/UDD failure to put down on their the ever-growing list of failures.

100% agree.

Add to that they actually MISSED and opportunity to disrupt parliament,

which is their only strong point as legislators, 'filibuster as a life style choice.'

And so WORK GOT DONE... BECAUSE they were absent....

Shadow cabinet; not on your tin type, they can't think that far ahead.

Formulate policy... HA! Naught more than formaldahyde policy.

This is the 3rd string of TRT, that couldn't be allowed to carry the spittoons 3 years back,

now they just act like CARTOONS, of politicians...

Members of Parliament have every right to not be intimidated by people with guns while doing their work.

Nobody was trying to intimidate anyone whilst doing their Job... the military was outside protecting Parliament perimeter, not inside.

There is a very high possibility that if the military/police were not protecting the Parliamentary building that the Reds would be barricading it to stop people getting in (i vaguely remember that being leveled as a threat) - couple that with the recent grenade attacks by an unknown party - i think its perfectly fair to add additional security to the building in this current climate.

So PTP got offended because they were asked to be searched, i get searched daily coming to work... i got nothing to hide and the search takes less than a minute, whats the problem? At the end of the day, however you wanna look at it, this extra level of security is there to protect the Members of Parliament and make sure they stay safe. Would these same people throw their toys out of the pram if they get stopped and searched at an airport? Food for thought...

But you see the PT members think they are high class / important / should be given enormous respect. Then they say they are conducting a class war and want no gap between the people, everybody to be equal.

Just another PT / red shirt double standard.

The country as a whole should thank the Phew Thai Party...

The remainder of the house members do not have any problem in going to work as they were elected to do.

...And so strange it is the Phew Thai Party who claim to represent that which they say are the lower class , then they act as they are a class above the remainder of the members of the parliment.???? 55555

They do not even see how stupid this looks to the rest of the world.

Well for the good of the country. lets hope they never see and the balance of the house , having enough for a quorum can and should be able to get some good bill put thru, at least until the dummies see what they are resposnible for....

What a bunch of jerks........

PTP has 180+ MP's , where are the 80 others ?

At least two are inside Parliament. The others.........

Here's what one of them had to say:

Pheu Thai MPs Represent Who?

Friday, March 26, 2010

Pheu Thai MP for Samut Prakarn Natee Suthinpuek, who is better known by his stage name Krung Srivilai, became a hero overnight by going against the consensus of his own party in boycotting the House session. He showed up on Wednesday to attend the meeting saying he came to do his job as described by the Constitution, to work for the people, and to live up to the expectations of those who have elected him to represent them. He also reprimanded the MPs who decided not to attend the meeting, saying they should resign and stop wasting taxpayer’s money.

His statement has been met with much applause from the overall public who has become so bored of being let down by the irresponsible behaviors of their MPs. They demanded that the MPs must sort themselves out. They must serve the country, the people and not a single person. They are not supposed to protect their personal interests and that of their friends, but leave the suffering of many people across the nation unaddressed.

Natee’s action is a slap in the face for the majority of his Pheu Thai colleagues who decided to boycott House session over the claim that deploying soldiers to stand guard around the Parliament is inappropriate. Although the government tried to explain that the security officers were there to provide extra safety for all and minimize circumstances that could lead to a bloody saga similar to the October 7 clash, Pheu Thai MPs weren’t listening.

Not only they did not listen, but also about ten of them behaved as if they were thugs by blocking the entrance of the Parliament compound with their cars.

Thailand would fast become a basket case if these Poo Thai Takkie Lackies get any support. Fact is they are desperate now to do anything after the miserable failure of the Loopy red shirts to achieve their aims

He does deserve commendation. Not many MPs are worth anything and PTP inb general has the worst of the bunch. However, credit to this guy. If PTP MPs dont want to represent the people they can not stand in the next election or even boycott it. Those are democratic options

and which members of the government are not MPs?

None that i know of. You know different?

ohhh, you don't know? not really a surprise, but lets wait if some of the other 'experts' have an answer here.

The only ONE in the cabinet mandated to be an MP is the PM.

He then picks who he wants, typically some MPs some not,

and then the King ratifies his choices.

As an example Suthep is not an MP, but he doesn't need to be one to hold that job.

Last year Redshirts attacked P.M. Abhisit's driver and who knows what would have happened if he had been in the car.

That was the goverment dressing up false red-shirts to create bad press for them.... spin spin spin....

Do you have proof?

If you don't that makes you just another crackpot conspiracy theorist and you should accept whatever derision comes your way.

Sorry about that fabianfred if that's the case. Actually even if you were serious I apologize for the vitriol of my post. I try to resist posting base attacks, but it happens every once in a while.
