sbaker8688
Hi, I've been here almost a year on a non-Imm B. Is it possible for me to leave right after the visa expires, then come right back and get another 30 days on a VOA? I ask because I know they've cracked down in recent years on living here on VOAs, and I want to make sure they don't force me to go back and make a new visa before coming in again? Thanks. lopburi3
Yes you can do that by air. Land crossing would only obtain 15 days. It is called visa exempt entry (it is not a visa on arrival).
Mario2008
If you have a multiple non-B and have to leave the country every 90 days you can even get an extra 90 days by just leaving and re-entering just before the visa expires.

Wow, are you sure? Yes, it's multiple non-B/90 days. That's what I'll do then. Thanks.

Provided it's a VISA issued by a consulate outside Thailand (not an extension issued by Thai immigration) you can do a border run just before the 'enter before' date on the visa and get another 90 day permit to stay
jackdawson
after the visa expires probably better to leave BEFORE it expires
