Documentation For Non-b Working For Municipality

Featured Replies

Hi People,

Could any knowledgeable person supply me with details of the documentation that a Municipality is required to provide for an English expat to facilitate the issuing of a Non-B and work permit for a teaching position.

Thanks in advance

John

Where will you apply?

If you apply at a consuate or embassy in Asia you will first have to apply for a work permit, before you will be given a visa. The school and you will need to fill in some paperwork from the labour office first and employer has to prepare the necesarry paperwork. Best is to go and talk with the labour office and see which documents you need. There are always local differences, like some will want to see a university degree while others won't.

If everything is well, the labour office will provide you with a WP3 form, which shows that you will get a work permit once you have the proper visa. You show the wp3 form and a lteer form your employer confirming your employemnt and asking for a visa for you to the embassy and will get a visa.

Note that for extensions of stay immigration might require you to have a terachers license, or waiver of that.

Mario,

Thanks very much, I will go to the labour office in Pattaya next week and enquire about documention required.

I do not know where I will go for a non-b, somewhere near, Penang? Vientienne?Singapore?. Where is best?

I will enquire about a teachers license, or waiver.

Regards

John

Hi John,

There is no labor office in Pattaya. Both Sattahip and Pattaya are Chonburi Province, so you have to go all the way up to Chonburi labor department for your inquiry/application, even though Rayong would be much closer to Sattahip!
