I'm trying to figure out roughly what the monthly fee would be to have 4 t.v.'s set up for the dish system. If I get the "platinum" package, which i think is 2,000 baht per month, do I pay that once, or do I pay that per t.v.?

Can I have one t.v. on the platinum package, and the other 3 t.v.'s on the Silver package and save any money?

So roughly, would would the cost be per month for one dish, and 4 t.v.s?

thanks!

and hopefully one day they will print a brochure in English, cause i suspect a good amount of their customers don't speak Thai.

unfortunatly it's one decoder per TV if you want each TV to display different channels.

You have to purchase a decoder for each and every other TV and pay a rental fee of 500 baht per month on top of the package payment.

I don't know what UBC charge for additional decoders but it's not cheap.

Once all the decoders are in place this will be your monthly charges.

Assuming you go for the gold package on your main TV: 1.568 baht per month

3 additional decoder boxes at 500 baht each: 1500 baht

Found some forum info that might help

.

The only (legal) way to get an additional outlet, without having to look to the same channel as the first outlet, is to get a second decoder box from UBC.

Installation is 2000 Baht cheaper then for the first outlet (since they don't need a second dish, just a cablesplitter).

You'll have to pay an additional 282.48 Baht/month for the second outlet...

If you just want to watch UBC from several places, but not at the same time, you can buy an audio/video transmitter and receiver.

Not sure about the price though.

Easy installation, the receiver will forward the remote signal to the ubc box, so you have control from wherever you are looking!

1 antenna is fine but to watch separate channels you'll need a second receiver. I investigated this a while ago with UBC and it wasn't cheap.

If memory serves it was going to be 7000 baht for the additional box installation and 500 baht per month rental. I could be way off with these figures as my wife dealt with it, but I recall it was pricey.

Try checking with UBC direct, they do run offers from time to time.. Good luck.

You can by a pirate decoder at most electronic markets. i bought one at Seacon Square for about 3000 baht. It's easy to install and you can watch different channels on 2 TVs

Unless something has changed, how many receivers/set-top boxes/subscription cards you can installed in your home will depend on whether you are hooked up via CATV (cable) or DSTV(satellite dish). With TrueVisions CATV your are limited to 3 or 4 "independent" receivers/cards (I forget whether it 3 or 4) and TrueVisions DSTV (da satellite dish method) your are limited to 2 "independent" receivers/cards.

If you need more receivers than mentioned above then TrueVisions can install some "dependent" IR receivers (i.e., controlled by the receiver in another room...watch the channel that the other receiver is tuned too) or you will have to go the card splitter route. I'll let you research the card splitter route. Recommend you double check the monthly subscription amounts quoted in above post by visiting the TrueVisions site as the additional receiver rental fee is approx 282 Baht (plus 7% VAT) vs the 500 Baht stated above.
