Back-to-back Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Is there a limit on the number of back-to-back tourist visas you can have?

I have two back-to-backs from Vientienne. Can I get a third from the same consulate, or would I need to go somewhere else (ie, Suwannakhet)?

There is, but nobody knows the exact number. It's at the discretion of the Consulate. You may also need to consider the accumulated period of your stay using TR. I believe anything less than 1 year is pretty safe.

I wish I knew what the max was also. I've had 6 back to back tourist visas and am sure I'm getting close to the limit! I have obtained most of my visas from the US and a couple from Singapore. When I go back to the US this summer for a month, I will apply for my 7th visa, so I guess we'll have to see. . . . . .

It will be interesting to see how you get on because your case is quite different from most back-to-back cases. You go all the way back to the US to get yours and spend some time there instead of just hopping over the border to Vientiane.

I don't think Vietiane or other counsulates in the region will take that into consideration. My belief is that they just do a quick count of stickers and don't take into consideration how long you've been out of Thailand or where you obtained them. The US consulates may look more closely.
