Recommended Posts

relatevly NEW Coffee joint with Free Wifi and fantastic set up, i mean different form "normal" restaurant style all same look a like tables and chairs types

Coffee Bla Bla in Nakhonban road 43/45 is "Coffee"joint with difference as the sitting style and chairs are all different from "Standard"

only minor if one like is that they are Under the normal thai tye house and only Fan venilated

and staff speaking only Thai, but im sure you get your self understood if you ask coffee...

price for coffee is below any other farang establicement and i think they serving beside coffee they have cakes and small snaks as well.

Last time i was there i could see that some other westerners has found that as well

and they have ongoing promo as well.

Im not related or anywhay involved, just thought to share this as coffee shops pop in Ubon corner now days all over.

I heard there is an other NEW one as well but havent found that yet,,,

Pantae in Warin is my favorite coffee shop - followed closely by Dao coffee.

I'll check this out.

Thanks.

Where in Warin is Pantae, old chap, that's my haunt :)

From Ubon -> take the main road south to Warin (past the Ubon City Park) -> over the bridge - > past Do Home -> over the next bridge - when the road splits (big picture of the King) - bare left (don't bare right or you'll end up at Warin train station). At the first set of traffic lights up the hill (200m past the King picture). Turn right. A small street - Pantae is about 20m on the right hand side. I forget the name of the street but its the road between Sathani Road and Sathit Nimankan Road.

The garden is fantastic, and so are the cakes!

If you google "pantae coffee warin" theres a review at weloveubon.

I have lived in Ubon Ratchathani for a long while now and where I agree with the posters above that Plantae is an exceedingly good venue I still feel that PEPPERS near the airport is the best location for my daily caffeine fix.

Peppers is owned an run by an extremely affable (albeit Ozzie!!) guy named Andrew and with his wife has, and does the utmost to provide purvey the finest bean!!

He is always more than willing to provide assistance for others using his colossal knowledge of Ubon and surrounding areas. He has helped me out on a couple of occasions, favours which meant a great deal to my wife and myself.

His wife, Seerung, is equally charming and their 2 daughters are the most charismatic with it always being a pleasure when they are "in house".

Peppers success is owed to Andrew and his family, it's not just a Coffe Shop, it is a family experiance.

Like a previous poster, I am in no way involved in the ownership or running of PEPPERS; I am just a happy punter ................ I just wish they'd finish those road works soon!!!!!

Happy Songkran to one and all

What i actually wanted on this post in the begining was just point out that there is many coffee joints in Ubon and not bacially make 1 to 10 list what is best, like we all we have our own favorates and like always own opininions abt what is why we go there..

unfortunently it has turned competition, that s why when i heard about this Plantae in wari, i did went to inspect and found out that is something totally different from standard table and chair set up and should be shared.

Im sure there is many hidden placeswhat we still do not know and i hope the guys continue share they views about different place and if needed pros and cons

as for me i g to many places and of course if some one point new place, whe i have time i will go and inspect that and share if it's worth to mention (again in my own opinin)

but many cases people choose joint what are convinient for they daily use,and that is understandable but as this is isan forum, we have amny readers around Isaan and for they info it's good idea to post any place oone thinks is worth to mention i.e. in Ubon

I personally travel aroound thailand wiht my bike often and i record and photocraph my trips and share all the info with my fellow rideres as i see fit so they know what is going on and what i have seen or heard on my travels, same i try to do it in Here when im in Ubon.

Interesting reasoning here Marco, but I, as many others, am appreciative of your initiating this thread whereby we can state our preferences - open debate and all that - and in my case PEPPERS.

By the way, I may be blind but I couldn't find the coffe shop in your original post, so I had to go to PEPPERS for some delicious, inexpensive Aussie pies, extremely tasty and revitalising coffee, relaxed atmostphere and a wonderful opportunity to give Andrew some grief!!

As i looked google maps it should be around here, but i might be wrong, but it should be near by there

I agree with Marco here - this Forum is a place for sharing information + new places. This has turned into a competition, by the competition. Take a look at the one post specialists -> barryp (great story! you've been in Ubon a long time to finally make your 1 post count! - i had tears in my eyes) and ubontime. You both kind of give the game away with your mispelling of "coffe" and the fact you joined the same day to make your 1 post. Guy's - please don't insult the intelligence of the readers - we all know how to make multi-accounts. Peppers is a great place but this type of thing is pretty cheap IMHO.

Oh come on ontherig, wise up (or wake up and smell the coffee!!) This MarcoH started the thread for one reason, and one reason only and that was to "stick it" to Andrew and Peppers.

I know barryp and ubontime and they are definately, definately not the same person and they defianetly have nothing to do with the ownership of Peppers.

If MarcoH wants to hijack the forum to try to get one better over the aforementioned coffee shop then he had better realise that his intended target has many friends and support and his shenanigans are tantamount to "trolling". Incidentally neither I nor Barry has seen Andrew for a while and as far as I am concerned he has nothing to do with the puerile posting of which I am as guilty as Marco.

Right; it's raining, I'm off to Pantae for a cup of their finest cappuccino and a slice of strawberry mousse cake ..... the best in Ubon :)

Happy Days guys, life's too short for such pettiness.

Ok - thanks Bergen for the information and apologies to barryp and ubontime for my comments above.

Obviously too much politics i'm unaware of in the coffee shop world of Ubon!

Why would i have politic's involved?

I found one coffee join clled Bla Bla because one of the Ubon westerner told so i went there, looked good,,i been there 1 time

then an other lad posted and other place in Warin Plantae(as it's correctly spelled) and i went there to insepect and found that to be extreamly nice.

Nothing wrong on competition,,or is it wrong to share information??

Yep; agreed. Stumbled over the Dao today, very pleasant indeed. But the favourite in Warin is the Pantae (as spelt correctly in Thai script)

Thanks again ontherig from a happy caffeine addict :)
