Glass Louver In Thailand - Welcome Hot Air?

Why glass louvers and small ventilation windows in Thailand opens only to the angle in which hot air flow into the building? Isn't it completely stupid? Maybe, for Europe it's ok (hot air inside, cold - outside, hot flows out) but not for Thailand! It's nothing but stupid imitation. What next? Radiator under every window?

What do you think about it? Yes, I understand, it keep out rain. But we have big roofs, and don't want to have heat inside a house.

So the outside walls are hot, the hot air rises and the louvre windows channel it right into your house.

I can't think how to stop that happening. :)

But while we on the subject of bad imitations, have you ever bought any Thai made Y-fronts or used a Thai made Western style toilet. I could write books on what's wrong with them.

Better than the alternative of hinged windows, where you have to open the bug screens

and let all the bugs in before you can adjust the angle of the window................
