Has any body heard of companies where you pay 30,000Bht and they sort you out with a work visa. I got an e-mail from a guy offering this service where i can set up a company in Thailand where i dont even need the 2 Million baht capital and i use his Thai wife as a partner in the company. Sounds pretty dodgy to me. Has anyone ever used this service or heard of it.

Sounds very dodgy to me mate!!!!

I am sure that There was a Swedish guy offering visas etc for years that got shut down not so long ago deported all sorts.

I am sure some of the more experienced posters on here will know a lot more about it than i do but i wouldnt trust anybody that are promising these sort of services.

I think if you get involved in this it is a sure fire way to get a free ticket back to whichever country you are from with nice little stamp on your record saying dont come back, :o i am sure you wouldnt want that so why dont you speak to sunbelt as i am sure they are the best people to advise on this subject.

Well, the first issue is - you are talking about a "work visa". All you need to get a Class B visa is a company employment letter, and a set of company incorporation documents. There are probably a lot of Thai companies who - for 30,000 baht - will send you such a letter and a set of documents. You then use the documents to go get the Class B visa yourself - at a Thai diplomatic post near wherever you are located.

But - all this does is get you a Class B visa - which then allows you entry into Thailand for 90 days at a time.

Once you have the visa, you come to Thailand. There is no reconciliation between the Thai Embassy or Consulate who issued your visa, and Thai Immigration, or Work Permit office in Thailand. So - you need never again have any contact with the company who sent you the packet.

You are basically "buying" visa sponsorship by an existing Thai company. This is fairly dodgy, but the chance of you getting in trouble is minimal. The guy selling you the sponsorship is making a killing.

Do NOT consfuse the term "work visa" as in any way being the same as a work permit, or a long-term entry permit.

Cheers!
