What would be around the right price from say, Sathorn in BKK to Pattaya?

I have twice made the journey from downtown Bangkok to Pattaya in a taxi using the meter. It came out at about 1,100 baht each time. Adding the highway fees and a reasonable tip, an offer of 1,300 baht should persuade most drivers to take you.

1300 baht gives you a cheap ride, 2600 baht gets you a much safer journey in a decent car with insurance............

These days I feel safer taking the bus too/from Bangkok.

But 1,300 baht is the answer (Max).

Max 800 baht (plus High/expressways), which is very standard.
