Money Exchange And Other Stuff

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I'm flighting out of Australia next week to Bangkok and was wondering which is better.

To exchange a few hundred at home then just use an atm when we get there and need money or

get travels cheques or

just a little ammount exchanged here then the rest as need at exchange booths in Bangkok?

Also I am have a allergy to ginger and have been told its pretty much in everything. What should i do? I really wanna eat thai food while i there. I made a little card that requests for it to not to be put in my meals for resturants but what about everywhere else? I'm trying to learn how the say the sentence well but am having trouble. And i don't really want to annoy all food vendors.

Cheers in advance.

:)

Bring just enough baht with you just to get into town. Bring the rest in travelers checks large amount like 500 Aus dollars. Less cost and top exchange rate.

Cheers :)

With the food question I'd go with Mai Sai king Na Krap Pom bpen Rook Puum Pee or ไม่ใส่ขิง นะ ครับ ผมเป็นโรคภูมิแพ้ or pom bpen Pee. Look for ขิง on an ingredients list, its the Thai word for ginger.

Remember Female speakers substitute pom for Chan (ฉัน) & Krap for Ka (คะ)

GotLost is spot on with his advice not only are the bank fees huge but you'll get the worst exchange rate through an ATM.
