April 19, 201016 yr Hey all, I was granted a 6 mth education visa for learning Muay Thai in thailand. That runs out in about a month and it says 'not extendable' on the stamp... I'm looking to stay for another 3 months or so, so what would be the best means of doing this?
April 19, 201016 yr Author Can I apply for a new Education visa in Thailand or do I have to do it back home?
April 19, 201016 yr Get your Muay School to obtain letter from Education that you will be still studying for another 3 months... the Immigration will extend the permit to stay.
April 19, 201016 yr You can try to go to immirgation and get an extension of stay, but your school should know if students are able to do this or not, as they have to help with the paperwork. The requirement is an officially recognised school, some are and some are not. If the school cand help you, you will need to get a new ED-visa with paerwork from the school in a neighbouring country.
April 22, 201016 yr Can you give us some more info on the school please? Name, location etc? I have never heard of ED Visas to learn Muay Thai.
April 24, 201016 yr Question for the OP. With the 6 month VISA you initially held did you have to make a VISA run after 90 days or extend at immigration? I assume your answer will apply for education VISA regardless of your studies (i.e. Boxing or Language). So much conflicting information about this on the web and it would be good to hear from someone who has just been there and done that. Good luck with your additional 3 months.
April 24, 201016 yr ED visa is available for any course with a school that is licenced by the Ministry of Education... Language, Cooking, Massage, and so on.
