What Visa Next?!

Featured Replies

Hello chaps! This is my first post on this forum so please bare with me.

I am 35 years old, living in Nonbualamphu with my Thai wife and kids. My Non-immigrant O + marriage extension, runs out on July 20th. Unfortunately, I just cannot come up with the 400,000thb required for a further marriage extension. What are my options? Can I get a fresh Non O in Penang? What would be the most economical option in your collective opinions?

I apologise for the rather pedestrian nature of my enquiry but desperate times, desperate measure, and all that eh?

Many thanks for any useful replies!

You can get a 1 year multiple O based on marriage in KL.

They want to see 100.000 baht in a Thai bank account.

Bring letter from wife asking for the visa (in Thai), copy her house book and ID-card.

You will need to make a border dash every 90 days but can do it for 15 months.

And if you can get the money together the last 30 days or any entry could be used to start extensions of stay again.

For single entry non immigrant O visas most Consulates will issue.

There is also a 60 day extension of stay that Immigration can issue to visit wife/children but they can not be used back-to-back - but alternating with border or visa runs can help tide you over.

Thanks for your help! Can I then, go to the immigration office in Udon Thani, a few days before my marriage extension expires and get a bonus 90 days? Thus making it into a 15 month visa?

Also, regarding the 100k in the bank for the KL consulate, how long would that cash have to show up in my account?

Thanks again

Just before your extension expires you can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your Wife.

This can be done at Udon Immigration.

If you do get a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa you have to leave every 90 days.

Do a border run just before it expires and you will get another 90 days. Giving a total of almost 15 months.

There is no rule that says the 100,000 Baht has to be in the bank for any length of time.

No you can not obtain an extra 90 days on an extension of stay. There is no requirement for time for the 100k in bank account.
