Translation Help - "actions Speak Louder Than Words"?

Featured Replies

Anyone have a good translation for that? "actions speak louder than words"?

Thanks in advance!

In Phonetics "gangra tham phuud dang gwaa kham phuud" Actions speak louder than words.

This Thai saying would be similar. It means something like good but with mouth only.. All talk no action.

ดีแต่ปาก

There is a Thai saying "การกระทำสำคัญกว่าคำพูด" equivalent to English saying "actions speak louder than words". This is not a literally translation, but the meaning is the same.

To keep it even simpler, how about ทำดีกว่าพูด ? Not literal either, but commonly seen, and the core message is the same.

THat just means that you should do better than what you said you would.

It is the first time I have heard that interpretation. Do you have any links or references backing that up?

As far as I can see, the simple back translation is '(to) do (is) better than (to) speak', which is also the core meaning of 'actions speak louder than words'. If that is incorrect there are a huge number of pages online that need to be updated, not to mention the course book in Thai from Australian National University.
