I gather there is a small market at or near Mae Sot. I am headed that way for a visa run in a couple of weeks. Anybody know what days it is open and what times, please?

I am not sure if there is a set opening time but I have done an early visa run, 9am ish and some of the stalls are starting to open. Wait a little longer and you will get a lot more to browse around.

Stall holders are starting to close up from about 4.30 in the the afternoon.

It hasn't got anything that isn't available elsewhere but is still worth a wander around.

I like the stall right at the entrance selling flavoured vodkas at 120bht a bottle.

If you are doing a border run, I suppose you mean the border market at the river, just ouside mae Sot. Indeed open every day.

Mae Sot itself also has a local market, open all day from early till dark.

Yes, Mario, the market I am told is near the bridge. Good to know even if it may not be huge. Makes time for a break to stroll around before heading back home.
