These so called red Shirt protesters are a group of around 100,000 thugs out of a country with 60 million plus people. These people have been lawless, and destructive to Thailand.

I find this article rather very bad. Lots of blind guessing instead of facts and then ...

New rules will be needed after new polls.

Shouldn't that be the other way round?

five rotten eggs would be appropriate when ratings applied

I doubt is there are more than few thousand, but they use the uneducated and uniform people to create chaos. And I am sure they have promised to these people a lot that they can’t deliver at all.

But does it really matter, it seem for most of people it is business as usual and most of all the government don’t even concern about the life and liberty of the effected people

There really are some blinkered posters on this forum. Those actively occupying parts of Bangkok may only number 10,000 as has been suggested, but I assure you that those who sympathise with the 'reds' run into MILLIONS

I was really more interested in whether posters thought that any sort of compromise may/may not be possible to achieve--especially given TV forum members, albeit somewhat limited, knowledge of the Thai psyche?

I am not really trying to open up a new argument about the merits, or failings, of either colour of shirt--no offence to any previous posters--all opinions are valid to some degree or other, it's just boring when topics keep getting closed down when folks start flaming each other.

I had no intention of flaming anybody haybilly. There are 60 million people in this Country, and not one of them seems able to come up with a workable solution, much less farang posters many of whom have little knowledge of Thai politics and who cannot vote anyway. It's all really rather academic, we are all deeply concerned about what is happening, not just for our own sakes, but for the sakes of our families and the rest of the population of this wonderful land.

I wasn't really pointing fingers at anyone, yours was a fair comment, and I agree with your last post--it is all very sad; I truly believe that compromise is the only option but can one be found?
