Settlement Visa Bank Statements

Sorry if this has been covered before but I can seem to find the answer.

For a settlement visa application, how many months bank statements need to be shown?

Or is the amount not specified?

I always used to put my last six months of my bank statements(current account) in with the application,also along with an up to date savings book ,all originals.Also if you have an agreed overdraft, hilight the fact to the ECO.

Assuming you're talking about a visa for the UK it's six months.

As far as I remember, there is no specific number stated in the Immigration rules.

There isn't; although the Entry Clearance Guidance says "at least three months," I personally believe that 6 months gives a clearer overall picture. Better to give them too much than too little, in my opinion.

Indeed, and the supporting documents checklist merely says "recent."

Obviously some evidence of a sponsor's finances is required, and I'd still recommend 6 months.
