during the last major eruption, the news channels were reporting the airports could be closed for many, many weeks. they were closed about 5 days.

so i would not worry about it.

I'm due to go on 27th May, so hopefully both situations will be resolved. Sure adds to the stress levels though - really need a holiday after all this!

dmax and joe552 - The red shirts aren't going to bother you flying into Thailand. The volcano is a different matter. It's inanimate and doesn't really know what it's doing. Worry about nature more than a few idiots on the streets.

Go for it. Only worry about the things you can control not the things you can not.
