Well, I'm not Thai but here's my attempt :o

"ngeen ya sai mot nai grapow ni"

The real value of this pharmacy though, is what they stock... you have to ask the pharmacist, a lot are not displayed. :D

And that's a direct hint, AsiaWolfie, about your other enquiries on, ahem, enhancement products.

actually I am not looking for anything illegal......just needed staff who can speak english quite well and have large stock of international-standard products.....already found that place, I checked my BANGKOKGUIDE 2003/04 by the Australian-New Zealand women's group, and they recommended a pharmacy at 2nd floor of AMARIN PLAZA near BTS CHitLom.......went there, good service, good products, good English......can be recommended. The name is RAJTRASONG drug store shop, right next to the walkway connecting Amarin Plaza with BTS ChitLom, 2nd floor....

thanks for your HINTS anyway.....who knows, might be helpful one day :o

If you want all that, with good prices too, try Chulalongkorn University's pharmacy, next to Siam Square, across from MBK, near the covered footbridge.

As a "heads up":

In Thailand, Viagra isn't legal as OTC and it's presciption is well regulated.

Therefore, any pharmacy that sells it OTC, is selling it illegally (many do).

One might wonder what other laws/practices they chose to ignore.

I found that I could go in and buy anything in the pharmacy while in Thailand. Xanax and ephidrene.

At many of the little pharmacies one can buy Viagra, Xanax, ephidrene, Vicodin, or whatever.

But, the transaction is illegal.

My point isn't that one can't buy them.

My point is that one " might wonder what other laws/practices they chose to ignore."

Everyone is obsessed with avoiding taxi and tuk tuk ripoffs.

Personally, I prefer to buy prescription drugs from someone I can trust.

If there is a real need for a medication, one can easily and cheaply see a doctor in BKK and get a presciption.

With a presciption, one can go to Chula's pharmacy and get the meds at a better price than "We-Be Drugs 'n Shit".

That having been said, ......

... for the lowest prices we've found (my wife's family has resided in Bangkok for generations), you might head to Chakrapetch Drug Store:

drugstore.jpg

It's on Chakrapetch Rd, the west end of Sampeng, across from the entrance to the Hindu center.

I normally don't recommend this because of the mass of people inside.

It's not worthwhile to stop in for a bottle of aspirin.

We only go there to stock up the chest.

We always spend a couple thousand baht.

But, as an un-escorted foriegner, the owner (seen in the window) will most likely pick you out of the crowd, thereby moving you to the front.

He speaks fluent English.

This is one local shop I would trust for prescription meds.

For most people, for most "non-recreatioal" meds, Chula's pharmacy is much more accessible.

Unless you are in the area, and/or spend lots of baht, the trip to Chakrapetch isn't really worthwhile.

Oh dear.. I'd definitely recommend that u buy from Boots.. it's everywhere, and I've never come across any branch that has bad service or any silly staffs. Plus, they're really friendly and wouldn't wanna get rid of you once you hand them cash.

Yup, it could be a teeny weeny bit more difficult, but it's pretty much worth the price for me :o
