jfchandler
Same thing parked under the Asoke BTS station on Sukhumvit Road lately, along with a detachment of soldiers standing around the station platform there and down on the street... not doing much of anything most of the time, as best as I can tell.. But walked by the other night....and the truck was blaring music out into the street. I think the military considers them somehow part of their psy-ops operation... As in the same truck could broadcast "Reds Go Home" if called into duty...

CHdiver
It must be a powerful weapon against not Asian Armies, judging from the Quality of the average Thai Karaoke. They would go insane in a short time. Somehow similliar to Swiss Jodeling

mca
You've gotta love the Thai way sometimes. I live next to an army camp. At Songkran rather than being on a " heightened state of alert " due to the current situation there was a large gang of squaddies outside the main gate chucking water at anybody passing. On the subject of karaoke I remember a couple of years ago a Thai bloke wasting about half a dozen of his neighbours with a gun for playing karaoke at full volume all night all week despite his repeated pleas for them to stop. Tragic sure but there was a part of me that thought " Mate I know where you're coming from " I haven't got a thing against karaoke. (I've been known to pick up the mic myself on occasion). Only all night full volume <deleted> singing karaoke. Edited May 8, 2010 by mca
