memartin03
I am leaving for Chiang Rai on June 19th...it's still quite some time from now, but still wondering since the last few days...how is the situation in Chiang Rai? I know a few minor red shirt demonstrations have occurred in Chiang Mai, but haven't heard much further north. I am connecting flights in Bangkok also...has anyone heard of any violence around the airport?
kevinbkk
As for Bangkok Airport, everything is normal. I went on Saturday from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and back to Bangkok, no problems or anything unusual at all.
kandahar
So far in Chiang Rai it has been pretty quiet. The Red Shirts do get together here now and then to show their support but it is usually a short-lived get-together. I haven't seen or heard of any violence. Life as usual here.
