Letter For 1 Year Extension

Featured Replies

My yearly extension (Non Imm 'O' marriage) is in a few days and I am unable to get to my bank in Sathorn (for obvious reasons!!). They tell me that only the Sathorn branch can issue this letter and not any other branch. I tried to plead with them to send the letter to another suburban branch; but to no avail. :)

Anyway, the question is this.....

...what will happen if I turn up at C/Wattana with all necessary paperwork (updated bank book, ATM receipt on the day of application etc) but with no letter?

Do you think C/W will have compassion or just tell me that they can't grant an extension without the bank letter?

Thank you for your help.

Which bank is it?

If there's a chance that there is a branch of that particular bank in the basement area of Chaeng Wattana, I would try and get the bank letter there and see if it works. You can only try and hope.

I don't think anyone call tell you the answer to your question, and I think you know that. Assuming you will have no choice but to try, will you please report back here on the results? If this drags on, there will be MANY expats in similar situations as yours.

Thanks to you both. My bank is Standard Chartered.

I would hope that there will be special dispensation in these circumstances
