Many people are going to be injured and killed today. You hateful people who are gloating over this fiasco should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm especially disappointed with our liberal far left gay members who have demonstrated their hate and are doing their best to stir the pot. WHY?

Can I please ask you a question

tell me where I can read your thread on stopping Thai's drinkling at Songkran

More people are killed on the roads at Songkran than here

Or do they not matter ?????

I thought the reds were a huge majority in Thailand.

Now the army is moving in around Ratchaprasong, there are a couple of small groups of reds protesting.

Where are the thousands on the streets? Where is the uprising?

Not surprised if you had slingshots as weapons.

It seems they don't have any sling shots.

So where is nuttawut, arisman and weng?

Still in their container demanding elections now?

Weng is hiding behind the stage wearing a bulletproof vest, I trust he has handed similar to the women and children human shields.

RT @tulsathit: Rumours now of red leaders fleeing Rajprasong. (Arisman, Suporn, Jatuporn)

No,they just go get some more bullet proof vests for their supporters. :)

Those who take children into this are worse than the terrorists themselves. Have they no conscience ?

Agreed, the women whosmugly told the cameras that they would "die for the cause" should have their children taken off them, and then be granted their wish

Well if they could afford nannies they wouldn't have to protest, would they? :)

Shit!!! I replied to the propaganda again! :D

The red shirt leaders now understand that this is a fight to the end. No negotiated compromise. The leaders will either end up in jail for a long time or be shot dead. I wonder if they will stand and fight or flee to Paris and go shopping for Louis Vuitton with their glorious leader Thaksin the brave. I think the people will fight but leaders are always a little more 'pragmatic'.

wheres the brave yellows ?

as for jail. No good. there will be fighting to get the out. think there is only 1 choice...............

And M79 grenades, and AK47's, and pistols, and other fully automatic weapons, and molotov cocktails (petrol bombs) and .... and .... and .... not the least of which includes RPG's that are capable of taking out an APC.

For what its worth and its here say

the red protestors (mums/dads/kids) have had their ID cards taken by the "officials" in the camps. In return they were paid some money, food, water etc. and the promise of more after the reds win.

Assume the red protestors cannot leave as they cant get their ID cards back.

The reds were expecting a million people to turn out and they are approx 5000 at present

this represents 0.5%

of this its possible that approx 300 motor cycle taxi drivers / taxi drivers / disturbed idealistic youths are causing billions of baht in damages.

go figure!!!

Yes how can anyone take this as a serious people's movement with 5000 protesters. One can go to any country with any cause or idea and easily find 5000 downtrodden, unemployed or irrational people willing to be paid to protest or defend a cause. Not to mention the possibility of enlisting ex convicts. Look at the history of war. How many young bored men signed up to join the military during armed conflicts? Actually quite a few. Getting 5000 seems to indicate to me this is a paid party and not a party of the people.

The soldiers on Rajaprarop still staying put. The red barricades on Rajaprarop and Petchburi road near Platinum Mall built of rubber tires, in front of them gas cylinders, all of it soaked with lighter gas and gasoline. Not sure valves on the gas cylinders are open or closed.

Most soldiers in side sois, some behind black sheets over the pavements.

No movements as of this moment.

Seeing thick black smoke coming from the south, one definitely from Chidlom barricade, others more from the south, I would guess somewhere around Suan Lum.

so you are saying that the red shirts have provided their own Viking Funeral

If this fire goes off most of them will dies from Toxic tyre fumes and smoke created by themselves

Seems like a smart move

Very good point. And just like during Songkran, they have a choice. Dont' drink so much your driving won't be impaired.

Leave the protest area peacefully, go home and you won't be in danger.

In both cases, these people are self-knowingly and self-willingly putting their own lives at risk. Nobody else to blame.

Finally someone who doesn't gloat at what is going on...lots of people will be grieving tomorrow and a lot of people (including me) are right now worried about our innocent loved ones inside the area....Remember, people live (not camp) and work there too and are right now in the line of fire because their employers bullied them to come to work and risk their lives....Someone should focus a story on why some hotels in Chitlom, Langsuan, Silom and Siam area have not closed and neglected government calls and advice from just about every embassy in the world and continue to accept guests (reporters) just to make a little money...These are not just obscure companies but (international and listed) hospitality conglomerates...They should be ashamed of their policy that endangers their staff...

Thaskin is definatly the cause and the financial organizer of this protest

Panic and chaos will allow him to return

But the question is

Is Thaskin the head of all of this

or just a puppet himself

There are many of my business friends who say he is but a puppet of The New World Order

and Thailand is a test site for bigger things to come

IF, the new world order is to be based on experiments in Thailand (bizarre little Buddhist kingdom that we all know and love) I suggest investing in horses, oil lamps, and a good pocket watch. Back we go!

Bangkok set on fire

BANGKOK, 19 May 2010 (NNT) – Many spots in the capital city have been set on fire, including the Office of Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) Headquarters, and entries and exits to Khlong Toei station of MRT underground.

Protestors of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) on Wednesday morning at 6.45 hrs set the ONCB Headquarters at Din Daeng Junction on fire.

Nearby residents and reporters tried to put off the fire, but they were chased away by the protestors.

Media members were impeded from recording the footage of the incident while some of the residents living near the ONCB Headquarters had to pack their belongings and evacuate. The fire was under control as of 7.30 hrs.

MRT underground staff at Khlong Toei station at 7.39 hrs reported that a group of unidentifiable black clad rioters broke into the station and splashed oil over the entries and exits of the underground and set them on fire.

Nearby residents tried to impede the rioters and put off the fire.

According to the latest development, the fire could be controlled. Nevertheless, MRT underground staff still prohibited media members from entering the premise.

Meanwhile, Chulalongkorn Hospital is preparing to evacuate patients out of the premise via Henri Dunant Road after smoke from car tyres burned by the UDD were blown into the hospital.

However, no fire has been detected inside the hospital so far.

UDD protestors still continue to burn car tyres on Rama IV Road near Bon Kai community, causing smoke around the area while a group of unidentifiable black clad rioters tried to set residences nearby on fire.

Smoke was blown into an animal clinic nearby, forcing an immediate evacuation of animals there.

In addition, chemical bombs were found on Thai-Belgian Bridge.

Security officers hence have to work near the area carefully. No further details about the bomb have been reported thus far.

Jatuporn and Arisman Have Fled after Soldiers Reclaim Ratchaprasong

That's what gets me. Why does a ceasefire hinge on the Army going back to their barracks? If the reds are going home, the Army has nothing to do but clean up the mess in the city.

Unless by ceasefire they mean the reds are going to stick around in BKK. Which obviously wouldn't solve anything.

Let's see if Thailand can make itself a pariah state today by taking the body count above Tiannamen Square. About 350 ought to do it.

Shameful day for Thailand and shameful to read all this vitriol.

That's sort of a funny example to use.

Tiananmen was an actual nonviolent protest for democracy that was put down by an overaggressive government.

This=not it.

Body count bewteen April 10th and last night.

Of course the Thai army, with all its weaponry and armour, can win this battle, much to the delight of all the armchair warriors in this forum.

However, winning this battle via more bloodshed in no way means winning the war. Driving the conflict underground presents some really awful possibilities for the whole of the country.

Before he earn the title of 'war criminal', Abhisit should have a long and hard think about the mess that he has helped to create. Negotiation really is the only way to solve this, and it may indeed cost him his precious job. It may also mean that he can't preside over the upcoming budget, and that his buddy Prayuth misses out on his chance to become the army chief when Anupong's tenure expires later this year.

Abhisit needs to get his priorities in order. He has turned into another Thaksin, with too many people hating him for there ever to be peace under hs rule.

The reds have been throwing grenades around the whole country for months. Also trying to blow up gas storage tanks.

It's fine supporting peaceful protests that are supporting the poor. It's very different supporting thugs causing terror (ie terrorists) around the country.

Sadly for all, the government and army are bowing to the inevitable.

Some times ones fate and best intentions are overtaken and crushed by circumstances.

You can only hit a sleeping dog with a stick for so long before it bites you badly.

But conversely you can only fence in a rabid dog for so long before it breaks out

and starts attacking mindlessly. Usually both get put down, through no fault of their own.

Once it was seen that the Rajaprasong audience violently rejected

their own leaders calls for stopping the violence and backing down,

the game was up for a peaceful resolution.

I am sure the red leaders, who cynically injected neo-post-communist styled indoctrination

into the minds of 10s of thousands for years on end, and 24/7 for 2 months straight

into this crowd of simple up country folk, are now shocked to find out how well it worked.

Those poor people have been brainwashed to believe ANY speech against their internalized

'Party line' is evil and compromised, and or bought by the evil government. So rejected without thought.

Now when their own leaders want to throw in the towel, for their followers safety,

the followers think the same about their change of mind; Evil product of the evil government.

Yes, send in the tanks if needed, but no need to use their cannons or heavy machine guns,

they can just be used to break down barricades, same as the APCs are being used.

But create greater fear through their unused potential. Heavy and armored means protection for the drivers.

There is no chance for further mediation, if the senate couldn't do it last night,

because the Red leaders have lost control of their people, that seals the end game.

I would guess the hidden snipers will now start aiming at the army as they come in,

rather than primarily their own side Red side pawns as propaganda fodder.

One interesting aspect from yesterday was that some in the rally didn't surrender because

they were told that the army outside were foreign mercenaries hired because they hate Thais,

so no compunctions to shoot them. That would fit with the reds propaganda that

90% of the country is 'with the reds', and Thais don't shoot at Thais, even though reds are,

and that if you dare leave you will be beaten, or killed, by the mercenary militarists.

I really feel sorry for these brainwashed folks, left to watch in horror as

the alleged 'foreign' force comes up the street to get them. Blame their leaders of course.

Now they will know the terror they have inflicted on others in Bangkok for weeks on end.

Lets hope a channel to the Wat is left open for those wishing to escape/surrender without weapons,

UNlike the 'shooting fish in a barrel' that was used on PAD oct 7.....

This was coming, sad to say, but inevitable consequences of the red's master's plan.

Sadly th 'Puyai of Paris' still goes for this ending long after that nature of the plan is well and truly exposed

to the Thai people and the world. The financial trail that will be vigorously pursued will likely decimate

the PTP/TRT ranks that spawned it. I suspect red Leaders will be captured if possible, to aid in this

financial post-mortem of an attempted revolution.

Chockdee Thailand and all the Thai people,

including the indoctrinated victims of Red misanthropy.

Good observations. With regards to the brainwashed masses, the Thai culture lends itself to such a situation. Group think is encouraged, individuality is discouraged. Unquestioning obedience to those above them in their hierarchy is ingrained. Finally there is too much magical thinking where some powerful benefactor supposedly provides for them absolving them from taking ownership of their own lives. So now we have the Waco style conflagration I feared, but the Thai David Koresh is a smart cookie and is busy shopping in Paris whilst he disowns his entire chain of command in a single tweet.

once the red leaders are captured and they make 'tell all' deals with the government for money, freedom, amnesty etc

this will be all over nationally and will pose no further threat

the reds will want to kill their own leaders who deceived them and Thaksins red revolution will be a spent force.....

for the hundreds of current red sympathisers inhabiting this site, those who are still here but have been re-incarnated and for those who have permanently fallen by the wayside.

especially for all of you who said that Abhisit would never have the support of the Army, Navy, Air force or the Police

here's something just for you

:):D:D LOL yeah ok lets see that is going to happen after all this is settled down and the muderous rampage of the government is shown for what it it cold blooded MURDER unarmed civilians shot in the head unarmed medics shot unarmed journalists shot and targeted

we will see who is eating humble pie

Yes especially when balistics starts noting that

army didn't kill most of these early deaths,

but red side snipers did for propagada fodder.
