Pet Registration Scam?

Has anyone heard about a project, possibly a scam, involving local government going around and registering pets (cats and dogs)?

Sorry I don't have any more details at the moment.

Its official (City Hall) policy that all dogs in Pattaya have to be registered there. No idea how rigidly its enforced, but I would guess that its barely enforced at all.

well, if that's not the ultimate out in the open money-grab, i don't know what is. first get the money from the soi dogs and then i'll kick down some cash for my fenced wolf.

Back in my Home Country you had to pay Tax for your Dog, you even got a nice little Tax mark for him to wear. So I would not look at it as unusual

Well our village have been advised that we will receive a visit from the local government next week for registration of pets. One of the residents though it was a scam so I though I'd just check if anyone had heard anything like that. Seems not the case. Thanks for the feedback.
