Leaving Thailand As A Family ....... Quick Exit Possible?

Featured Replies

Sorry if covered previously, if so please be so kind as to point me in the right direction.... thanks!

Current situation:

Myself - UK Born living and working in Thailand (UK Passport holder)

Wife - Thai born, previous (now expired) 2 year visa to UK (Thai Passport holder)

Child 1 UK born (Thai & UK passport holder)

Child 2 Thai born (Thai & UK passport holder)

So... simple question really.... Myself and the kids can travel to the UK no problem on UK passports but IF the current situation escalates to a point of 'deciding what to leave behind' i don't want it to be my Wife!

So, will she be offered an 'emergency visa? Does such a thing exist for Thai's in her situation? Am I crazy to think that it does?

Were not at that point yet however, it's best to at least know which bureaucratic path you are made to follow...

Any help or redirection will be much appreciated.

Thanks :)

Register with your family at your embassy. In case of needing to repatriate their citizens I don't think they will leave your wife behind. But your question is best answered by the embassy.

If you would try to arrange travel on your own, chanche is your wife would not come further than the airport because of visa requirements, which is checked by airline staff.

Thank you Mario, I will now and should have done this previously but... The Land of Smiles etc .....

I was thinkingk to escape from the country with my family as well if situation deteriorates, if you have any trouble with visa or it takes time go on first plane available to Singapore, stay safe there and apply to UK embassy there.

Lando..... excuse the stupid question and i know that I should as a fairly long term guest here, know the answer... but does that mean that she can travel to Singapore without a visa? How about Hong Kong?

Thanks.
