Thomas_Merton
Actor/Actress: In my experience most actors/actresses are egotistical bores, but if pushed would choose Sir Alec Guinness (but would rather have the Dalai Lama instead) Musician: John Coltrane Comedian: Lenny Bruce, but he would probably take over the whole party, so instead I’ll choose Eric Morecambe (who’ll probably do the same but in a much more convivial way). Politician: Tony Benn or Enoch Powell TV Member: TGS, who like me, needs to learn a lot from the other guests. Sportsman: Most sportsmen and women are a thick as two short planks, but for wit and interest I would choose either George Best or Freddie Truman. I’m going to create two extra places because I like to have 8 people to eat. The obligatory female: Golda Meir The person you would most liked to have met: The real Thomas Merton

The Gentleman Scamp
I want to write a letter to Ben Elton congratulating him on yet another fine novel. He's the only author who's entire works I've read (Except Inconcievable) and I'd like to make him feel appreciated. How does one go about such a task?
