June 4, 201016 yr I had noticed that sound of Green Music had disappeared from the BTS stations during the recent Reds occupation, along with the vendors and stands selling CDs of it. It was rather symbolic, not that I much care for Green Music and would ever buy a CD of it. Now it's back but it sounds a bit forlorn to me anyway. Fewer people than usual were riding BTS today, partly owing to the loss of Central World traffic; and whole mood downtown just seemed gloomy. After walking by and viewing the remains of Central World and Big C, I felt a bit sad myself.
June 5, 201016 yr This is one example where the Reds protest probably saved lives. If I had to work at a BTS station, and were forced to listen to that inane elevator music non-stop for 12 hours per day, I would surely lose the will to live and commit suicide by feeding my head into a nearby cash deposit machine..... At least the poor workers at the BTS got a short holiday. In western countries they could claim for noise pollution. Edited June 5, 201016 yr by bangon04
June 6, 201016 yr Author ^Good point! Would drive me bonkers as well. I suppose ear fatigue sets in after a while and they don't actually hear it any more. Or perhaps they've gone partially deaf already. Me, I don't travel in BKK very often, but it seems every time I do, I hear the same Green Music song played in every station. I mean, surely just playing a different song would help somewhat.
