I've a friend in Bkk that makes very nice costume jewelry using silver and semi- precious stones. She would like to sell these items on eBay in the USA but is having problems with depositing checks into her checking account. Pay Pal will not work for her, nor it seems any other means to transfer the funds to her account. We are looking for suggestions to make this process eaiser for her. I have agreed to act as her agent here in the US and perhaps list her art on a Yahoo or eBay store. Has anyone had this problem? She said that sometimes the bank fees etc. exceed the value of the check.

It also seems that since 9/11, a person must actualy reside in the US in order to open a bank account. (At least Bank of America said so.)

We would really appreciate any help from someone that has already encountered this problem.

Open a forign currency account in US dollars. You'll have no problems with the cheques then. But I am suprised she is finding difficulty. Is it just the length of time it takes to clear?
