Teaching, Work Permit

Featured Replies

Can I obtain a work permit with just a TEFL certificate alone. As I do not have a degree?

I have been refused teaching jobs with out a degree many schools tell me is necessary for a work permit.

The work permit won't be an issue once you have a contract with a school, as long as you have all the required paperwork, which includes formal education certificates.

The difficult part can be getting a job without a degree.

Check the teching forum for more information about qualifications:

There might be other reasons they don't want to tell you.

Currently a few Labour Offices want to see a TCT teacher license or exemption. In general the TCT will issue one if you have a degree.

Not only some labour offices, also some immigraiton offices want to see a teaching license (waiver).

But believe this is only for government schools, not for universities or language schools and not sure about private schools. As said, more information in the teaching forum.

"...which includes formal education certificates."

Can you give an example?
