Hi

Can anyone comment on the current conditions (June 2010) of Ko Lanta and it's weather and beaches?

My Lonely Planet guide says during the monsoon season (now?) the beaches come up high and bring in lots of rubbish and driftwood.

Is this true? Should I forget about going to Lanta this June, or is it still worth visiting?

Cheers

Most bars and restaurants are closed at this time of year and do not reopen until October. We have several friends who have businesses there and at this time of year they come to Hua Hin for a couple of months.

Its hit and miss this time of year. Some places will still be open all year round and the prices are super cheap. But unless you like the quiet life you will become bored very quickly.

Go in October when the prices are still low but everything is opening up again.

Statistically u have to face rain on almost 2 out of three days. u can be lucky and able to swim, but u have to take in account a rough sea.

its a game with the cards :-)

best bet on nice weather and swimming conditions in june is koh samui or koh phangan.

but also there it can be different from day to day. remember u r in tropical country.

for statistical information u may see tmd weather
