hi guys,

friend has an education visa. recently secured a teaching position and needs to change to non-b.

does he have to go to bangkok to change it there or can he get it changed in nan immigration.

My guess is that since your friend apparently needs a work permit, he will need to get an original non-immigrant "B" visa from a Thai embassy or consulate. A visa is usually changed by immigration to enable the holder to get a retirement or marriage extension of stay .
