On Sunday I went to Big C in Chiangrai and found the handicaped restroom was too small to be used by people in wheelchairs. I spoke to the duty manager and that night recieved an email from Bangkok that they would look into it. Today I recieved an email with the plans for the changes they are making to make the room accessible. I have been active in lobying for access for several years. This is the quickest response I have ever had.

They have sent the detailed plans and have indicated their internal correspondence. I am sure it will be done soon.

Well under a year and I checked it out on this trip. All complete and a fairly good job. It is a conversion so it has some faults but it is generally accessible.

In many years of pushing for accessibility this is by far the fastest and most complete response.

It is heartening to read that some companies realise the importance of responding too and addressing such issues in a prompt manner. Unfortunately, the norm is otherwise.
