Now that the ATM's are charging for foreign card transactions do I get charged if you go to a branch with passport?

and how are you gonna get money out with a Passport? Still have to either go to the ATM, or the Bank will have to ask the Bank in your Home country if you have sufficient funds, so costs involved there.

If in Thailand for an extended period why not open a bank account and transfer the funds from your Home Bank, might work out cheaper in the long run.
