Hello,

Does anyone know the Sriboonruang Hospital, near Udon Thani ? My girlfriend is pregnant and she tell me that with her first child she had a difficult pregnancy and

that the Dr's did not take care of her very well. So she says she will go to Sriboonruang Hospital near Udon Thani because the hopital has very good Dr's.

Can anyone explain to me how much this hospital care is likely to cost me ? My basic understanding is that most Thai people can get a yellow card which allows them to pay 30 baht for different treatments. But there must be private hospitals and I am guessing Sriboonruang is private and so costs will be much higher.

Anyone any experience of this hospital or of costs involved in hospital care (from conception to birth)either in Isann or Thailand?

Anyhelp would be appreciated , thanks

The hospital should be able to give you a price indication. Let your girlfriend contact them.

Since she is your gilrfriend, you will not be the legal father when the child is born. After the child is born, you can try to register the birth together with the mother at the amphur and make clear that you want to be the legal fahter of the child. Some amphurs will allow this, others willl direct you to the court and insist that you petition the court to become the legal father.

Thanks for the feedback Mario.

My girlfriend has now been to Sriboonruang Hospital, Udon Thani and has been quoted 20,000 baht for all care up to and including delievery.

She says the Dr has given her his number so she can call to ask anything she wants. She has paid 10,000 baht so far (on her first visit).

Does 20,000 baht sound about right to you? What would it normally cost in Isaan? Thanks
