Daughter has option to get Oz citizenship, or PR. Down side, if go for citizenship, according to the country of origin, she would loose her current one if they found out.

So....if she gets a PR, in Oz highschool system, would she have the right to education as an ozzie kid, or need pay the exorbitant fees as a foreign student?

Thx for any advice.

:jap:take up aussie citizen ship, permanent residency does not give you unlimited access to australia, many permanent residents here, find that after their first trip overseas for many years are denied reentry into australia, it sounds strange but it is tragic and very true, there is a case in brisbane at the moment , of a 37 year legal resident being denied reentry after visiting relatives in the uk,the main reason to take up citizenship ,it is cheaper to get a 10 year aussie passport than it is to get the visa stamp :jap:

"...irrelevant my dear watson......... does not modify the scenario"

Actually, it might. You said if she becomes a AUS citizen her country of origin doesn't allow dual citizenship.

"...according to the country of origin, she would loose her current one if they found out."

A lot of people mistakenly believe that. More countries than not allow dual citizenship. Thailand does.

"... she would loose her current one if they found out."

If that's the case, make sure she hangs on tight.
