You should search TV about bike and boat as the tax of approximately 270% will change you mind about those.

I have but this new format has me lost and nothing is coming up on my searches....anyway, I thought there were some allowable items up to a certain amount that were allowed into the kingdom "tax free" as personal belongings....I don't wnat to leave my 31' bertram in Florida but am not going to pay 260% duty on it either. There has to be a way to bring your belongings over without having to pay this hiway robbery duty that you have described.......anybody

You might believe you don't have to pay import duty on vehicles but Thai Customs department says otherwise. Thai Customs Department

If you look through the TV classifieds there are some nice looking boats that may be similar to yours at reasonable prices.

Thanks Gary, I have read this link and it is relating to "house Hold" items. I was told about a year agot that if your boat had inboard engines vs. out boards (or vis - a -versa cant remember) that the import and duties were signficatly less. I have explored shipping my harley to cambodia and driving it into the kingdom but, I then would have to leave every 6 months and re- register it. Like wise, Cambodia seems to have much favorable importing regulations. Perhaps I should ship the boat to cambodia too and flag it as cambodian register and then float it over to my thai marina..........anybody have creative thoughts on this process. I have looked at TV classified for a 31 bertram pre 1978 and no dice. They are very desirable and vintage boats....if you know some one let me know. Kevin
