Visa Enquiry

Featured Replies

Hi I am leaving my job and starting a new one this week but not sure what to do.

The new school says i need to get a tourist visa, is there any way i can stay in thailand and get my visa non b changed to a 30 day tourist visa.

Or do I have to leave the country and get my visa 30 day from re-entering into the bkk airport?

You cannot work with a Tourist Visa.

You need a Non B Visa which you already have. Assuming it is a Visa and not an extension.

so i need to leave the country then?

Are you on a non-B visa and do you have a permission to stay from at the border or are you on a extension of stay and did you get your permission to stay from the immigration office? If the last, you have to leave the country and do that on the last day of your employment or get a 7 day extension from immigration.

Re-entering at the airport will not give you a tourist visa, which is what you new employer has asked you to get.

You would get a tourist visa from a Thai Embassy or Consulate.

errrr but what about the 30 days every person in thailand gets when they enter the country?

That is a visa exemption, not a visa. I suggest you clarify with your employer as there is no reason for them to ask you to get a tourist visa.
