I went to Immigration today to apply for my first visa re marriage extension

No problems but I was surprised by the date I was asked to come back

My existing visa finishes on 19th July and I was told to come back then, when I would have my passport stamped for a further month

I expected to be given a month from today

No real problem just wondered if that is normal

Anything immigration chooses to do can be considered normal at the time. The important thing is that they did not say NO or ask for more documents. What fee, if any, did you pay?

<BR><BR>Yes indeed I had a similar experience that "anything immigration chooses to do can be considered normal at that time"<BR>I had an application pending for an extension of Non Imm O visa based on marriage and they put a chop in my passport that I had to report two months later June 20th (but this was a Sunday and I was told to come on June 21st despite the fact that June 20 th was also the limit I was allowed to stay in Thailand).<BR>Unfortunately I had to make an urgent short trip abroad for which I needed a re-entry visa whereby I would return on Sunday June 20th.  <BR>I was worried and I asked the Immigration Officer how after arrival at Suvarnabhumi I could be allowed to enter the country on June 20th and while the limit of my stay was also June 20th :  the Immigration Officer assured me that as long as I entered the country before midnight of June 20th I would be allowed to enter.<BR>That is what happened and the next day on Monday June 21st I got my extension.<BR><BR><BR><BR>
