Australian Partner Visa

Featured Replies

My Thai GF and I are currently preparing a Subclass 309 - De Facto Partner Visa, anyone else out there in the same boat?

Planning on submitting a complete application @ BKK embassy by the end of the month, Does anyone have an idea on waiting times at the moment as I'll be in OZ?

All being well.....about 6 weeks

However if they require more evidence or documents then it may take longer.

Processing is slow at the moment, 3 months at least. As gbburns rightly said though, it may take longer if more evidence or docs are required,

Thanks guys, not the best news bridge but I was kind of expecting that with recent events and the embassy being closed for a week. If it's going to be 3 months I might fly over for a month, spewing I didn't jump on the Jetstar Specials last night. $470 return MEL-BKK cheapest I have ever seen!

Best of luck frustrating times but well worth it !!biggrin.gif can't speak to current processing times but to provide some comfort my Thai boyfriend and I have recently been through this, we submitted our application in BKK (posted from Australia) in early Feb 2010 I think they received around the 6th? he was phoned within 4 days (massive surprise to us) and interviewed on the 4th of March, and we both flew back to Australia on the 7th April. We were both impressed with the service and processing times the case worker/officer was absolutely delightful !! Good luck !

Bridge is on the money, ours was processed recently and it took the full three months, just keep in mind that if there are any concerns regarding TB they will do a sputum test and this takes 3 months for the complete test anyway.
