The quality of drivers in Thailand ,unfortunately is extremely bad. We see accidents like this all the time in Bangkok . Thai drivers are probably one of the worst I have experienced. A little bit more respect to others would be nice. I am not surprise about the amount of dead people in car crash in Thailand , its like Europe in the 70's.

That would be impossible in Bangkok, but foolish anywhere in the rain.

Driving in Bangkok is OK if you drive defensively, and remember that smaller roads are treated by locals as village streets. People wander across the road, pull out, swing unannounced u-turns and drive the wrong way. You just have to expect it and allow for it.

RIP the lady in Pattaya, and yes, custom is no excuse for irresponsible driving.

Typical Thai driver. Driving in any lane they want. RIP.

Actually not typical at all.

He sat and waited for the cops and apparently confessed his mistake. This is extremely atypical of Thai drivers. So remarkable in fact, there may well be a reason and that reason might be he is an inexperienced driver of good character.

Reckless driving in general.... BUT in this particular case.... who knows.. maybe he was disorientated, couldn't see, because of the heavy rain, how about her traveling (maybe) without lights... it always takes 2 to tango, I was once caught in one of those incredible downpours on my way to pattaya, but sitting in a cab... it was horror, he sped through the wall of water, seing 0 nill, niente, nadda one of the worst minutes in my life - i told him to slow down, cause he can't see, he answered he knows the road to pattaya well! - RIP!
