Cambodia’s Exports Top $20 Billion Amid Global Demand Surge
KT- Sokunthea Cambodia has reached a major economic milestone in 2025, with exports surpassing $20 billion for the first time, driven by strong demand from the United States, Canada, Japan, China, and Vietnam. The country recorded a 14.8% year-on-year increase in export value during the first eight months of the year, according to official data released on Wednesday. The surge reflects Cambodia’s growing presence in global trade, with garments, footwear, travel goods, and bicycles leading the charge. The textile and garment sector remains dominant, benefiting from competitive production costs and established supply chains. Agricultural exports also played a key role, with rice, rubber, cassava, and tropical fruits such as mangoes and longans gaining traction in markets across Asia, Europe, and North America. The United States continues to be Cambodia’s largest export partner, particularly for clothing and footwear, while Vietnam and China remain vital outlets for agricultural goods. Japan and Canada have also emerged as important destinations, especially for high-quality and organic produce. Cambodia’s expanding trade footprint is closely tied to its manufacturing base and favourable climate for agriculture. The country’s ability to meet rising international demand has positioned it as a reliable supplier in regional and global supply chains. However, the export boom has been matched by a sharp rise in imports. From January to August, Cambodia imported goods worth $21.96 billion—a 16.2% increase over the same period last year. Key imports include oil and gas, raw materials for manufacturing, vehicles, machinery, and pharmaceuticals. The rise reflects growing industrial activity and consumer demand, particularly among the country’s emerging middle class. As Cambodia continues to develop its infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities, its trade relationships are expected to deepen. The latest figures underscore the Kingdom’s evolving role as a dynamic player in Southeast Asia’s economic landscape, with both exports and imports shaping its trajectory in the global market. -2025-09-12 -

90 day notification -- do while abroad before due date?
My understanding of the 90-day notice is that you notify Immigration that you are living in Thailand. You have to renew it every 90 days. So, I don't think you could post when you're not in Thailand. Also, when you return to Thailand, you'll get a new 90-day notice. -
