Non Immigrant O Bank Deposit Question

Featured Replies

Hi all,

have to renew my Non Immigrant O Visa (Thai Wife) soon. It's my 6th extension in Chiang Mai. Never had any problems. 400k deposit ready since 3 months.

Now i have one question:

Can i withdraw money (around 150k) from my bank account while my application is under consideration or should i wait until the "application permitted" stamp?

Any experiences with this?

Thanks in advance,

HKCU

Previously (to the requirement to have in account several months) they would not allow it and approval would be held until it was above the required mark by Bangkok (if checked). This may not be the case now so I would ask your immigration office. Do not recall seeing anything definitive being posted.

I always dip into it with no problems.

In the past (6+ years or so ago) they certainly did random or selective checks with the banks while applicant was under consideration.

I don't know if they still do this or not but to be on the safe side I would leave the funds alone until you have your final approval.

I agree and I would never believe that anyone elses experience can be relied on, Cos its just a big free for all and as usual anything can happen, you are very lucky you are not being stitched up, so don't push your luck.

Leave it until you get approval. It was required when i applied and even more hassle to start the process again if you withdraw.

First thank you for all the quick answers.

I will stay on the safe side and leave it until i receive the "Application permitted" stamp.

That's what i did in the previous years also, so i should not take any risk.
