Leaving For Th On The 3Rd, Need Some Reading Material :)

Featured Replies

So, I am leaving for Thailand on the 3rd and I will be on a 25+ hour flight. I have loaded my ipod with music and movies but I also want some reading material. I am probably going to want to read a sort of "guide" for what to do when I get there and dangers, cautions, do's and dont's etc. If you can suggest any that would be great. This is the first time I am visiting Thailand (study abroad) so hopefully it will be fun.

The Lonely Planet Thailand guidebook is the most popular and very helpful to newcomers. It was probably at its zenith when written by Joe Cummings, but it remains a real asset to newbies and budget travelers to this day.

Yep. The Lonely Planet will give you a good start.

you don't need reading material, you need a pillow.

'Private Dancer' by Stephen Leather could be a entertaining (and possibly useful) read on a long flgiht

I judged that book by the cover, lol. I will check both out.

EDIT - Is the Thai Black Book worth a look?

Thailand Fever - that will give you an insight into any potential relationships you may become involved in.
