metice
I need to link 2 routers together and require a crossover adaptor. The cable is long and already in place so I don't want to replace it with a crossover cable. My skills don't extend to making my own! Any ideas where I can buy one in Phuket? Many thanks
BillR
Id assume the bigc people could make one for you, usually routers have a button on 1 port which switches that port to become a crossover (see pic below, uplink button). I have a couple of netgear hubs I could sell. pm if interested.
GmB
Most of the routers, if they are not very old, has now the Auto MDI/MID-X function and a crossover cable is not needed. What are you trying to achieve connecting 2 routers each other? By the way if a crossover cable is what you really need and you already have a straight one in place why don't you just cut off 1 the plugs switch the wires and crimp it again? Isn't that hard you just need a crimping tool and in a few minutes you will have your crossover cable.
LivinLOS
As said, I havent encountered a router or switch in years that this was an issue with.
