Family Vacation

Featured Replies

I am looking for a place on the beach for a family vacation. My Wife and I are going to visit Thailand and want to take the family for a vacation for a few days (10 People). Need a reccomendation please... Close to Bangkok.

Hello,

we have returned from our family vacation and had an excellent stay.

We had a reasonably nice hotel on the beach in Hau Hin, about the nearest beach resort to Bangkok (2 hrs) drive.

If you search Hau Hin Bluewave resort and read the reviews i dont think you will be dissapointed for the price.

have a good holiday.

Hi, Only 2 hours away from Bangkok along the eastern seaboard, is the nice island of Koh Samed - take a look at "http://www.kohsamed.net

have a great trip

Would advise against Koh Samet as it's a bit of a rip (the national park entry fee notwithstanding) and lacking in services and facilities. Kids may also find it boring.

Hua Hin is perhaps the best beach choice within easy reach of Bangkok, having a good range of hotels and restaurants, nice beach, not expensive, not in your face, and also has plenty of family attractions, a good night market and the odd mall.

Good thing about going towards Koh Samet is that there are more

potential day trips for the family. Croc farm, lion Safari, go karting

water parks ....

To me, Hua Hin is rather quiet and could get boring after a few days

Hua Hin or Cha am is suitable. Plenty of reasonable hotels or villas for rent. 90 minutes-2 hours drive from the airport. Mini bus available for upto 12 people. Things to do apart from the beach/kiteboarding/jet skis/fishing trips are Kings Palace, there are 2, The main one in Hua Hin and another 15minute drive toward Cha am, Plearnwan mueseum, Monkey mountain, Plenty golfing, KhaenChan national Park, Palou waterfalls, Wat Mongkhol, Night market and shopping malls. Seafood in Cha am/Hua Hin is probably the cheapest in Thailand so plenty of restaurants.
