I got some cheap flights for my brother using my mums credit card for AirAsia because he does not have his own.I recently took a flight to samui to bkk and had to show my credit card that I booked with before they would let me on the plane - I am hoping this is not the case with AirAsia or those cheap tickets are worthless!

What your brother will need is a photo copy of Mom's Credit card, and of her DL or other ID. That copy should have a statement in her handwriting that she bought the ticket for your brother and he is authorized to use it.

It should not be a problem but it might very much depend on the person your brother will face during check-in.

I have flown with them quite a few times and never been asked for my credit card to check the payment.

Should not be a problem...have been travelled on AA regularly but not once been asked to see credit card in Asean countries and China....

I have flown over 20 flights with Air Asia within last year all paid by CC via Internet.

Never did they ask to see CC.

If the flight has been booked in your own name using your own cc they will not ask to see the cc.

However if it is booked using somebody elses cc they will ask to see it.

They may do, but I've bought tickets for my g/f on my card for AA twice, she was travelling alone, and they didn't ask for it.

You mentioned Samui so I'm guessing you flew Bangkok Airways. They always ask to the see the credit card for internet bookings. Air Asia in all my experiences never have asked and friends who don't have local credit cards have used mine to book flights in the past.
