wileycoyote
A friend has asked me to ask the larger commumity if they can share any tips for a "newby" travelling with 2 children with Thai international to Chiang Mai . I have asked them to ensure that their luggage is tagged from their home airport to their destination under the Star Alliance shared carrier system & that they are just transiting at Suvarnabhumi for Immigartion & will re-collect their luggage & go thru Customs at Chiang Mai. Any other tips ,location of comfortbale seats etc ? Thank You Wiley Coyote

Ricardo
They'll need entertaining as it's usually the 747 with no screens in economy.. That or tranquilisers.. No seat-back screens, but a big one on the bulk-head, and drop-downs every several rows, but limited audio & only the film(s) they decide to show. NB With 4 of you travelling, it's worth getting the frequent-traveller points, on their ROP-cards. Apply online if you don't already have them, and show them at check-in ! A UK-Thailand-UK return used to get you enough points, for a freebie BKK-Phuket/Chiangmai return, on your next trip ! There should be a few simple toys/games/colouting-sets distributed by the cabin-crew, for what they're worth. UK-BKK-UK gives you only 12000 milies in eco (depending on the booking class also) A domestic thai flight needs 9000 Miles for One way, and 15000 Miles for return flight. Sorry, they must have increased the miles needed, certainly it "used to get you enough" as I said, but that's a few years ago now, as I can't afford to fly TG on BKK-LHR-BKK these days !
