Best Value Hospitals In Se Asia

Featured Replies

After seeing many people being ripped off by CMai and BKK Private hospitals in Thailand I thought it would be good to hear other suggestions in this region of the world.

Private hospitals in Thailand are world class yet now they are not as affordable as they once were... they now cater to only the rich expat and rich thai market. The rest of us are in for a nasty bill if we simply drop in for a checkup and minor surgery then charged 10s of 1000s of bt. They have beome Opportunistic in their pricing, as all are doctors from our homeland have been for a long time.

For me the sleep clinic came as a shock to me at over 12,000bt for 5 hrs evaluation. Another thread has a 7 day stay with operation at 190,000bt, which would have been half the price back in Aussie.

I remember years ago staying overnight for only 1000bt per night all expenses paid- those times have gone in Thailand.

Other options I have found on the internet in SE Asia is Vietnam, Phillipines, Malay and India. Not sure if I would risk a stay in many of the other less developed countries. Malay and Phillipines especially look to be offering the prices Thailand did a decade ago. Yet are modernized with all the right equipment and world wide accrediatations.

Anyone got some choices of best value hospitals in Asia? Must be of a decent standard, good quality of care and very good value. Please list the name and location of the hospital.

I am sure any information will be a very valuable resource for medical tourists. I still think dental services are good value in Thailand- plus if you willing to wait in a government hospital for general medicine and checkup then it still very good value in Thailand. But no longer for safe operations IMO.
