frenchfarangjomtien
Hi,, Can you help me to compare data plans available in Thailand ? If you buy an iPhone or better a HTC Desire or Nexus one what is the cheapest way to use internet and email ? Is there any unlimited data plan available ? If you have any link to compare AIS, 12CCALL, and TRUE, or any other carrier in Thailand it would help. Thank you so much.
daveh
Unlimited data would be really nice. Last I was in Thailand, I used DTAC/Happy and they charged data by the minute instead of by the byte. Unfortunately, the Nexus One likes to do lots of small polling operations. When I went to bed for 8 hours it seemed to use 5 hours of data time. So I was forced to disable data when I didn't really want it to be charged.
frenchfarangjomtien
I have found this for TRUE, it seems that they have an unlimited EDGE GPRS 3G, but i don't know if you can get it without buying an iphone ? http://www.truemove.com/iphone/eng/price_plan.htm

Unlimited edge 999 baht, 140 hours 399 baht, etc. Edge service was pretty decent and good enough for browsing when I used to use it. http://www.happy.co.th/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=333&Itemid=368〈=en
sbk
12 call also has an unlimited data plan, both 12call and dtac happy have unlimited blackberry plans as well (650 baht a month for 12call). suggest you try calling them to get the exact price. 12call: 1175 dtac happy: 1678 http://www.happy.co.th/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=333&Itemid=368&lang=en true: 1686 //Moving to mobile forum//
lomatopo
One-2-Call has an unlimited data plan, 999 THB/month same as DTAC. If you have enough balance then you can enroll automatically: *138*0338# SEND. If you are on a different plan, say 100 hours per month for 350 THB (7% VAT is additional) then you can check your usage with *139# SEND. http://www.ais.co.th/dataservice-contents/th/dataservice_package.html It doesn't look like TrueMove has an unlimited data plan, independent of their iPhone packages, but they do have an unlimited daily plan for 39 THB/day (the linked chart is obviously incorrect). http://www.truemove.com/en/banner-wifi-edge-gprs-pre.html Edited August 7, 2010 by lomatopo
